Windjana Gorge
There is no better outback trip compared to the one to Windjana gorge from the Kimberley region. It's the number 1 place in Australia to look at freshwater crocodiles in the wild and it has an excellent camping area close to the gorge walls. Very few tourists spend the night time there, if you decide to do so, head out early in the morning to get a great view of the crocodiles coming out of the water to sunbathe alongside a pool.
Nitmiluk National Park
Based in the Northern Territory, this particular offbeat locale hosts a lot of Wallabies and that too close. There is only one backpacking ground with basic facilities, that's rarely full, presenting a relaxing vacation in the lap of mother nature herself.
Rottnest Island
This can be a great start to your itinerary. Take a boat to the spectacular Rottnest island with awesome beach fronts, pristine waters and excellent marine life. It is a good spot to unwind and de-stress.
